You will be able to demonstrate your experience in operating as a departmental HR expert, advising, guiding, and supporting managers and staff by providing high-level people management and development expertise. You will be proficient in using data to drive productivity and efficiency to maximise performance whilst ensuring standards are maintained and to drive continuous improvement, which aligns with the company's visions & values. Evidence of operating autonomously and being proactive in contributing to the development of HR policies, working processes and procedures will be essential to ensure best practice is always adhered to.
The successful applicant will likely have 3-5 years’ experience working as a Business Partner in Operations. You will also be prepared to travel between 3 UK sites, which mainly operate 24/7, to ensure a strong HR presence is maintained, and therefore occasional out-of-hours HR support is required.
As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for building effective and collaborative relationships with leaders and key stakeholders within our Operations departments to shape, develop and deliver HR plans and solutions in line with the needs and priorities of the business.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers and staff, specifically supporting managers in dealing with employment matters, complex casework, performance, attendance, and employee relations issues.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the HR Director and Senior Leadership Team around the people agenda to maximise service performance.
- Identify HR priorities arising from corporate and departmental plans, translating business requirements into effective HR practices, and delivering people solutions aligned to these business objectives.
- Deliver key HR initiatives, ensuring key stakeholders are informed / consulted on relevant changes including restructuring, resourcing, talent management, pay and reward, employee relations, employee engagement and performance management etc.
- Manage workforce planning initiatives as required to support the different business units.
- Act as Account Manager with incumbent agency partners across all sites, maintaining relationships, negotiating rates to deliver business savings and ensure staffing requirements are delivered in a timely manner, especially during “PEAK”.
- Ensure compliance of business units through vetting and training, in line with the CAA requirements.
- Support H&S Manger with company audits
- Work with third party providers to ensure that services meet business needs and are delivered to agreed standards and timescales.
- Maintain a clear understanding and up to date knowledge of the legal framework within which HR operates, developing HR policies in line with current legislation and keeping abreast of modern HR procedures and best practice.
- Support the development and implementation of pay and reward strategies e.g. pay negotiations, annual reward statements, annual performance review and bonuses.
- Support the HRD in the delivery of the HR strategy, including overseeing all payroll processes to ensure staff are paid on time and correctly.
- Monitor and support relevant HR activity to ensure HR SLA’s are met and address any HR related business continuity issues
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
- 3 – 5 years demonstrable experience of providing HRBP support in operational and fast paced, multi-site environments.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
- Ideally educated to CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work autonomously on your own initiative and under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to adapt positively to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
