HR Advisor - Longport, Stoke-on-Trent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of HR Advisor; this generalist role (based in Stoke on Trent) will support the HR Manager with a wide range of employment issues, HR advice and will be instrumental in leading the recruitment activity for all depots in the UK and Europe.
This role would be ideal for a HR professional with a track record of employee relations and recruitment; ideally with experience in a manufacturing/engineering background. There will be opportunities to travel within the UK to support our teams on the ground, and you will be required to learn about the skills required to provide a world-class locomotive service to our customers.

The role includes:
Supporting on the delivery of an effective HR support and advisory service to 4 sites across the UK. Taking a leading role in the recruitment activity, including creating compelling job adverts, advising hiring managers on adequate interview questions and identifying the most appropriate talent attraction techniques. Supporting and advising the business on the whole range of employee relations - including absence & sickness management, capability, conduct & performance issues, Flexible Working requests, contracts of employment etc across Shaping the provision of an efficient employee life cycle, acting as first point of contact for employees & managers' queries Enhancing managerial competencies by designing and delivering fit-for-purpose training materials Preparing various HR reports, KPI's and other statistics Assessing and reviewing HR processes and policies in line with best practice & changes in legislation Assisting HR manager with the coordination of payroll submissions We can offer you:

Robust theoretical and practical knowledge of UK employment legislation and handling ER cases. Track record of dealing with high volume recruitment. Creative in approach with strong interpersonal skills and solid problem-solving skills. Comfortable with Excel and appetite for figures. Ideally degree-educated with CIPD qualification or equivalents. High level of professionalism & sense of customer service. Committed to continuous improvement and own personal development. Valid driving license and flexibility to travel to other sites when required.
