The Role:
Are you an experienced housing and homelessness manager looking for an exciting challenge? Do you have an extensive understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act and local authority Allocations policies? Are you looking for your next career move?
Watford Borough Council is currently strengthening its housing service to meet the significant housing challenges faced by its residents. A strong focus will be on the prevention of homelessness and a reduction in numbers in temporary accommodation, as well as delivering excellent value for money services fit for the future.
This role is an exciting and challenging post for an experienced housing professional, giving you the opportunity to work with our Transformation Lead, to strengthen the councils front line Housing Advice and Homeless Prevention Service. Candidates will have extensive leadership experience in operational homeless services and a proven track record in change management.

We are therefore looking for someone with the right approach and enthusiasm to take our homelessness operational service forward and support the team to develop and deliver excellent services.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will have the drive and ambition to champion and embed a culture of continuous improvement within the housing service. They will be able to lead a team of experienced officers and respond to National and Local policy issues and challenges as they arise, working collaboratively with partners to seek solutions.
Key requirements include effective communication, team-building skills, the ability and motivation to solve problems, personal credibility and an approach that builds rapport and confidence in both officers and partners.
