Key Responsibilities:
1. Caseload Management: Handle a diverse caseload of housing litigation matters, including disrepair claims, possession proceedings, civil injunctions, defending EPA claims, ASB, and fraud.
2. Landlord and Tenant Matters: Demonstrate expertise in landlord and tenant matters, with a focus on AST and/or leasehold issues, and proficiency in handling forfeiture claims.
3. Client Care:Provide exemplary client care through clear communication, expectation management, and keeping clients informed throughout the legal process.
4. Marketing and Networking: Actively participate in marketing and networking activities at both firm-wide and departmental levels to contribute to the growth and visibility of our Housing Management team.
5. Time Recording and Billing: Maintain a consistent track record of meeting monthly time recording and billing targets, ensuring efficiency and financial goals are achieved.
6. Case Management System: Utilise and leverage a case management system to streamline workflow, maintain accurate records, and enhance overall efficiency in caseload management.
7. Supervision and Support Services: Manage support services, including the supervision of secretarial and junior staff, fostering a cohesive and efficient working environment.
8. Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to ethical standards, ensure compliance with legal regulations, and promote a culture of integrity and professionalism.
Your Experience Should Include:
- Strong experience in a housing management legal department (0-5 years PQE).
- Dealing with a busy caseload of housing litigation matters, defending disrepair claims, possession, civil injunctions, EPA claims, ASB, and fraud.
- Experience in landlord and tenant matters, AST, and/or leasehold matters, with a focus on handling forfeiture claims is desirable.
- Delivering excellent client care, preferably in private practice.
- Participation in marketing and networking activities.
- A consistent track record of meeting monthly time recording and billing targets.
- Familiarity and experience working on a case management system.
- Managing support services, including the supervision of secretarial and junior staff.
