JOB DESCRIPTION:

We're looking for an outgoing and dynamic Bar & Restaurant Manager for our beautiful 23 bedroom Scottish Island Hotel and Outdoor Activity centre.

The role involves:

Leading, training, inspiring and consistently getting to best from your FOH team (around 6/7 people) - keeping accurate training records for your team

Beverage Menu Planning - think local with an increasing emphasis on sustainability and minimizing our carbon footprint

Working with the head chef on the food menus (see last point)

Weekly ordering of bar stock and, checking deliveries, liaising with suppliers regarding and discrepancies

Responsibility for stock and wastage monitoring and reporting - must be proficient in using a computerised stock management system or have similar transferable skills

Responsibility for meeting or exceeding beverage sale targets and for ensuring margins are maintained

Event/group client care in house

Assisting the general manager in event/group planning pre arrival

Acting as Hotel Duty Manager in the later evening

Responsible for ensuring FOH areas are cleaned regularly according to the foh cleaning schedule and the cleaning records are maintained.

Person Specification

We're looking for an outgoing and bouncy person who will really make an impression on their team and our customers. We need someone who is in control of themselves, their team and of the customer experience. This role is a hands on job where you will be very much front facing and leading your team by example. This doesn't mean you will be running around doing everything by yourself though, the ability to delegate and provide training and opportunities for your team to learn is very important. We need someone who knows what they are doing with EPOS, PDQ's, Stock Management Systems and can take ownership of and troubleshoot technical issues where needed.

Shifts & Duration

- Generally 2.30pm till 10.30pm (our bars last orders are at 10:30 so you are never late unless there's a big function on like a wedding)

- set up and running of evening F&B service

- close down & cash up each night

- 5 or 6 days a week

- approx 38-48 hours per week (paid hourly or salary )

- the role is till the end of October 2024 with a view to a permanent position for the right person (an annualised package where you work more in the season and less in the winter can be discussed)

ACCOMODATION: Room in staff house in Inverarish Village or a single wooden cabin on site if you prefer

RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK: All candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are legally allowed to work in the UK
