My client based in Manchester is looking for an experienced Band 6 Histopathology Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract, starting as soon as possible.

Requirements:

HCPC Registered as a Biomedical ScientistExperience in a Lab environmentGood communication skillsIBMS Specialist Diploma or equivalent in Cellular PathologyKnowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems in pathologyExtensive knowledge of the work of a Histopathology DepartmentExtensive post–registration experience in HistopathologyA sound understanding of basic physiology, pathology and scientific principles relevant to HistopathologyGood analytical skillsCellular pathology experienceEvidence of CPDCompetence and experience in: EmbeddingMicrotomySpecial stains techniquesFrozen sectionsImmunohistochemistry Experience of operating, troubleshooting and maintaining complex laboratory equipmentAwareness of ISO 15189Evidence and knowledge of in depth Histological practice and theory.Evidence of post–registration experience in Histopathology.Good understanding of basic physiology, pathology and scientific principles relevant to HistopathologyGood understanding of Health and Safety requirements within the scope of practiceBasic IT knowledgeIBMS accredited Biomedical Sciences degree (or other degree accredited with IBMS)Current HCPC registrationIBMS Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology or equivalent level of knowledgeEvidence of CPD Atlantis Medical will take pride in representing you for this position, and we will treat you with the respect that you deserve.
