Specialised motorway, groundworks contractor is looking to recruit a HGV Mechanic. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in maintaining their fleet of HGV lorries, always ensuring their optimal performance.

Job Overview:

You will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a variety of HGVs. The primary focus will be on ensuring the vehicles are in excellent working condition, meeting all safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

Conduct routine maintenance and diagnostic repairs on HGVs.Perform regular 12-weekly inspections, servicing and repair works on the fleet of HGVs.MOT preparations, ensuring that all vehicles meet the necessary requirements for passing the test.Complying with time recording procedures and ensure that job cards are completed accurately.Organising vehicle defects as they happen and arranging the necessary parts to fix them.Operate in a tidy and safe manner.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role, preferably in an automotive or fleet management environment.IRTEC certification is highly desirable. (or be able to sign off vehicle inspections).Strong knowledge of LGV maintenance and repair procedures, including engine diagnostics, brake systems, and electrical systems.Familiarity with MOT preparation and testing requirements.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a team.Strong organisational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and colleagues professionally.Full UK Driving Licence (required).

Location: Elsenham, Stansted, Bishop's Stortford area
