Your new companyYou will be joining an existing trade team at a large organisation based in St Andrews. Due to an increase in work load, they are looking to add a commercial heating engineer on an initial temporary contract with the plan being to hire permanently after an agreed period of time. Your new roleYou will be working as a heating engineer in a number of commercial buildings, including student accommodation, office buildings, lecture theatres & leisure facilities. You will be asked to undertake all maintenance duties in relation to a wide range of large–scale heating and hot water installations, including maintaining and resolving faults in heating systems, hot water systems, air handling units, pumps and control systems with minimum direct supervision and maintain acceptable productivity outputs and quality work in accordance with industry practices.What you'll need to succeedYou will need to have the following qualifications to be considered for this role: SVQ Level 3/ SCQF Level 7 in Plumbing or Heating & Ventilation, domestic Gas qualification, Commercial gas qualification and have an up–to–date Gas Safe Registration. Due to the nature of the role, ideally you will have experience of plumbing & heating work in domestic and commercial environments in both modern & historic buildings. A driving licence is also required for this role. What you'll get in returnIf successful, you will start in January 2024 on an initial 6–month contract, followed by the potential for a permanent job offer. You will be paid weekly via Hays with accrued annual leave and no payroll charges. You will also receive regular updates from your Hays consultant.
