Position; Senior Health, Safety and Environment Manager – 3 month contract – Inside IR35Location; Bridgwater, SomersetRate; GBP400 – GBP500 per day (dependent on experience)Seeking a strategically aware and hands on HSE Manager to support a complex beverage manufacturing site whilst we recruit for a permanent candidate. The successful candidate would be able to encourage and enhance positive behaviours and safety culture. The Site:Join a fast paced, complex and welcoming manufacturing facility with a headcount of just over 650 people. There is a drive to improve culture on site and promotion of positive behaviours. Looking forward to 2024, many projects are planned, a capex investment to ensure the site is future fit.Main Responsibilities: Lead the site towards more proactive Health, Safety and Environment management, offering hands on practical support, solutions and advice.Responsible for ensuring the site is as sustainable as possibleJoin forces with the site General Manager and new Head of HSE and create change and collaborate across departments to ensure the site is aligned and moving towards the same visionDevelop and promote an positive culture where everyone is accountable for HSE.Be the face of HSE on site, mentor and manage an established team of 2.Develop, coach and mentor the workforce to ensure understanding, competence and compliance of HSEOwnership and Management of the sites, HSE training programmes, providing an education and training resource for all operators in key HSE tasks. The HSE Audit schedules, HSE non–conformances and close out, Employee liability claim and PPE requirementsFull accountability for the Plant Waste Strategy including "zero to landfill"Able to liaise with relevant stakeholders, sites within the wider group, insurers and external regulatory bodiesEnsure all accidents, incidents, near misses appropriately reported and investigated whilst encouraging the management team to continually improve safety targets.Sit within and actively contribute to the senior leadership team to support the strategic needs of the site What they can offer you: Have creative control and freedom to put your own stamp on this siteCareer development, progression and supportAbility to share best practice across other sites Essential experience and requirements : Ideally from a FMCG background or wider fast paced Warehouse or Manufacturing or Engineering sectorNEBOSH Certificate as a minimum requirement but ideally wanting NEBOSH DiplomaExperience managing a teamProven to support a company's cultural journey, encouraging positive behavioural changeHands on professional who is proactive, confident, and engaging.
