They are looking for an experienced, hands–on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager to join the team,where you will be responsible for all aspects of health and safety.
Responsibilities of the Hand Safety Manager:
Ensure the factory and warehouse environments comply with H&S legislation at all times.
Ensure that all construction sites comply with H&S legislation at all times.
Ensure that all tools, plant and machinery are legislatively compliant and fit for purpose.
Undertake planned and random H&S Safety audits of the factory, warehouse and sites – provide findings and recommendations reports.
Ensure that we are meeting our legislative obligations with regards to welfare and PPE of all employees and sub–contractors to whom we owe a duty of care.
Manage the Health and Safety Assistant, and QE Assistant delegating where appropriate
Provide leadership including conducting H&S Assistant appraisals and reviews.
Provide site inductions to new starters.
Provide reports to the board of directors – format and frequency to be agreed.
Ensure that our monitoring and recording mechanisms for obligations for such as LOLER for example are fit for purpose and are being updated correctly.
Provide toolbox talks to any employees in need of update re change in legislation.
Provide toolbox talks to drive continual improvement.
Create and write RAMS as required or requested – wherever required by the business.
Oversee all QE matters across the business
Produce QE plan and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Managing, maintaining, and presenting to external audit ISO standards 9001, 14001 & 45001.
Ensuring standards amongst the workforce are fit for purpose and comply with legislation – maintaining training records and organising training where necessary.
Ensuring that the business is meeting its environmental legislative requirements and furthering its CSR ambitions where such opportunities are present and practicable.
Ensuring continual compliance with FSC standards
The Ideal Health and Safety Manager will have:
Health and Safety experience at a senior level
QE experience at a senior level
Experience of supporting a multi–site business with multiple 'on site' projects
A background in construction is essential
Well–developed organisational skills
Evidence of experience in auditing
ISO awareness and compliance
Excellent communication skills
Influencing at a senior level
Confidence to ensure mandatory H&S legislation is adhered to.
Q&E experience in a similar industry
A professional approach and ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
