The role
The research communications and engagement team at Breast Cancer Now makes breast cancer research accessible and engaging to everyone. Its aim is to highlight the value and impact of research and build continued trust and support for the charity.
You'll use your medical research knowledge and expertise to lead the team to deliver tailored, accurate and creative research communications for PR and digital channels. You'll be responsible for leading proactive communication campaigns highlighting the importance and impact of the charity's research. You'll also provide expertise, information and insight on our research activities and breast cancer research landscape for reactive opportunities.
Working with our fundraising teams, you'll directly support income generation by managing the delivery of engaging research communications and research impact. You'll also work with our research community to engage and involve them in our communications and fundraising activities.
About you
To succeed in this role, you'll understand the impact of research and scientific communication for charitable organisations. You'll be able to translate complex scientific information and tailor it to a variety of audiences. And you'll use your excellent writing and verbal communication skills to interpret and present scientific and statistical information in accessible and meaningful ways.
You'll also be able to lead, inspire and motivate an effective team and work collaboratively on strategic projects across teams and departments.

Primary location of role and hybrid working
This role is primarily based in our London office. However, our hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.
