Alongside our alliance partners Kier and Clancy, we're embarking on an ambitious and comprehensive strategy that will set us up for the challenges of AMP8 and beyond.
With efficiency, customer service, safety and cost controls central to the work we do, we have created a new Head of Programme Optimisation role to consistently deliver on the core deliverables of our programme of work!
What will you be doing as our new Head of Programme Optimisation?
As an integral part of the IMRDS Senior Leadership Team, you'll manage and mitigate all programme promotion and forecasting risks and ensure we achieve best value work balance, seasonal resilience, robust workforce planning and flexibility to meet, and exceed, customer expectations.
Whilst fulfilling your duty holder obligations under CDM Regulations, you'll oversee the in- year programme, ensuring it enables and unlocks the performance objectives linked to the swift, safe and efficient workflow, with an eye on improving ways of working to enable interdependent delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the development and delivery of an optimised programme of work feeding into the IMR Operational Delivery Team. This role will manage and mitigate all programme promotion and forecasting risks.
Responsible for the development of the Programme Delivery Plan in collaboration with the Head of Networks, Head of Capital Delivery and Head of Operations, with a clear line of sight to the IMRDS strategic plan and objectives
Forecast the resource requirements needed from the Alliance Partners to enable the safe programme deployment in accordance with the Programme Delivery Plan and the Partners Health, Safety, Environment and Quality and Management procedures
Proactively and reactively manage a team where creativity and progression are championed to develop individuals and team output to contribute to business objectives
Play a key and visible role in promoting collaboration to deliver positive leadership behaviour to ensure Programme Optimisation best in class, efficient and safe performance delivery is achieved
Manage the programme value chain risk and take responsibility for resolution working with those best placed to mitigate the threat and maximise the opportunity
Drive performance improvement across the IMRDS Programme to ensure delivery of key outcomes, maintain flexibility to ensure that plans can be adapted to suit changing demands and challenges
Work closely with the Head of Commercial to ensure operational decisions are commercially viable and to create a cost conscious alliance
Develop long-lasting and value-added stakeholder relationships which champion collaboration and our values whilst acting as the Commercial expert across the alliance
Ensure that the programme is optimised for best value work balance, seasonal resilience, robust workforce forecast planning, and flexibility to meet a varied customer delivery model.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours .
To join us on our quest for operational excellence, you'll have asset management exposure ideally within the Water Utility contracting experience, specifically within Repair and Maintenance, Clean Water Networks, Metering, Developer Services and Capital projects within an Alliance/ partnership contracting environment. Possessing recognised Programme/Project Management qualifications (i.e. APM/PRINCE 2) to compliment your experience in management of operational programmes, you'll thrive in managing teams and working with senior levels of management.
Demonstrating a programme level focus, you'll be self-motivated and collaborative and understand when your team needs your support in getting involved in the detail. Viewed as an inspirational leader, you'll be comfortable in working with a high degree of agility in a dynamic environment which will require you to be proactive and positive about change.
