We are looking for a Head of Policy, Representation and Evaluation to help us achieve this exciting aim, by building the quality and impact of our policy, research, and student representation.
We are a registered charity employing over 100 career staff and 300 student staff, delivering a wide range of services and representative functions for UCL students. We have the widest portfolio of services any student organisation in the country, managing UCL's extracurricular programmes for sport, music, drama, dance, media, volunteering, academic societies and intercultural engagement; providing a wide range of fantastic social spaces; leading on student democracy and representation across UCL; and offering excellent student support services.
It's an exciting time our growing organisation as we lead the delivery of UCL's groundbreaking new Student Life Strategy. This is enabling us to build more programmes to improve students' mental and physical wellbeing, promote genuine equity for all, build students' skills and confidence, develop their international connections and intercultural skills, and make a real contribution to our local community.
The Head of Policy, Representation and Evaluation is a key new leadership post that will help us to build relationships and impact from our research and representation work with our partners in UCL and beyond, as well as playing a key role in evaluating the impact of our new programmes. We hope this will help set a new benchmark for high quality and student-led extracurricular activities, helping to inspire change across the sector and around the world.
The Head of Policy, Representation & Evaluation will play a vital role in building impactful policy relationships with UCL's senior leadership team, as well as UCL's world leading research centres, and with national and international policymakers. They will lead the Policy and Research, and Representation and Democracy teams to produce high impact reports, publications and dissemination events. They will also lead the UK's largest annual student election and help us build a strong and inspiring culture of democracy at the UK's largest and most diverse university.
This role will work closely with the Director of Policy, Governance and Advocacy and the Chief Executive, as well as our elected student leaders. The role will lead a team of 7 full time staff as well as a team of fantastic part-time student staff members.
