Head of Music

Shoreham Academy are seeking to appoint a Head of Music to make an impact across the whole school, placing music at the centre of school life. We want students to engage with a challenging, exciting and highly professional curriculum, both in and beyond the classroom.

We are proud to have a very ambitious music department. The Head of the Department will be expected to make the most of the potential links in the wider community, building on starting points from local feeder primary schools and working closely with West Sussex Music Hub and the central Music team at United Learning, to ensure that our students can access the very best musical opportunities. All of this is in line with the DFE’s National Plan for Music Education.

The Head of Music will be responsible for leadership of the staff team, including the teaching staff and supportive visiting musicians. They will need to drive teaching and learning that empowers students to learn more, whilst embodying our school values of hard work, integrity and excellence.
