A new Head of Interior Architecture job is now available in SW London. The role will involve managing a team of interior architects, overseeing every stage of the design process and delivering high-end luxury projects around the world. This is the perfect job for an experienced interior architect with a strong managerial background. This is a hybrid role offering a salary of circa 65,000 + Benefits.
Their team combines the perfect amount of creativity, industry knowledge and innovation, producing phenomenal work for national and international clients. Due to an increase in their workload, they are currently seeking an experienced Head of Interior Architecture to join them and help them lead luxury residential projects in the UK and overseas.
Role & Responsibilities
- Managing the Interior Architecture team, ensuring efficient project programming, resource allocation, and high-quality work output, project hours & team efficiency
- Monitoring team performance, addressing issues, and providing constructive feedback
- Liaising with HR on matters related to team development, recruitment, and performance management
- Tracking and ensuring that all project deadlines and targets are met
- Acting as the main point of contact and escalation for the IA team
- Creating a detailed project schedule that outlines tasks, milestones, and deadlines
- Allocating resources and managing project budgets effectively
- Maintaining design intent consistency from concept through completion, overseeing design quality at all stages
- Collaborating with the design leads and other team members on design concepts and decisions
- Liaising with the FF&E and Procurement teams on project coordination ensuring deadlines are met
- Checking all technical packs before submission ensuring quality and company standards
- Monitoring / optimising IA team profitability reporting regularly to company directors, and ensuring financial goals are met
- Working with the Finance Manager in bridging communications on team profitability, billing, and forecasts
- Managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control
- Working proactively within the management team to support the company's growth initiatives
- Contributing to achieving annual revenue targets and strategic objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15 years' interior design or architecture experience in the luxury residential market
- Client-facing experience including leading design presentations, meetings, and
correspondence throughout the design and building works stages
- Strong experience and leadership in managing a design/interior architecture team
- Practical knowledge of how to execute design intent including an in-depth understanding of construction methods
- Proven experience producing and overseeing the development of design packages from concept, tender, and design intent construction detailing
- Must have a proactive approach to leading design work within the studio and when communicating with clients and contractors
- On-site and project management experience including full delivery of projects from concept through to completion
- Awareness of commercial aspects of projects and ability to assist senior management
- Project coordination and timeline management experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD or Vectorworks (preferable).
