Head of Finance – London/hybrid – Up to GBP60,000 plus bonus

My client, an award winning charity with operations in Central London, is looking to recruit a Head of Finance offering hybrid working. The role is accountable for the effective Governance and financial management of the charity, enabling the charity to develop and grow, while safeguarding and improving its reputation. The successful candidate will have line management responsibilities for one Senior Finance Executive.

Key responsibilities:

Production of annual budget and business plan with the Director of Charities and relevant budget holders for presentation to the Board of TrusteesMaintaining strong financial controls within the charity through regular process and policy review as well as staff trainingLiaison with external auditors, advisors and internally, Group Finance, as requiredAssistance and advice for fundraising staff on contracts, governance and other legal/compliance issues, in conjunction with Group Finance, Tax and Legal departments as well as external advisors, as requiredCash forecasting and Treasury management of financial assets and reserves, including liaison with external advisors (where required)Analysis of performance and trends to support plans and ensure accurate and effective reporting internally and at Board level, including focus on cost control and expense ratioReviewing monthly payroll and changes ahead of approval, ensuring journals are processed correctly. Key skills:

Qualified accountant with previous management accounts experience, ideally within a charity/not for profit environmentTechnical knowledge of accounting standards and Charity SORPsStrong understanding of internal controlsStrong understanding of the charity sector and governance best practiceLine management experienceStrong understanding of financial systemsExperience of financial business partnering; communicating with and presenting to non–finance staffStrong communications expertise – able to simplify complex financial information for a range of internal partners.
