Never has there been a more exciting time to take on this newly created senior leadership role within Dumfries and Galloway Council. As a member of the Council’s Management team, you will work closely with other Chief Officers and Elected Members to deliver the Council’s vision and ambition for our region, focused on supporting our communities to thrive and prosper and ensuring that we provide quality services and better outcomes for the citizens and communities in Dumfries and Galloway. You will provide strategic leadership and management of Children, Families and Justice Services and will also fulfil the role of Depute Chief Social Work Officer. Importantly you will support a one-Council approach and offer empowerment and support to teams to help them floursh and continue to make a difference to the lives of our citizens. We are looking for a visible, forward-thinking and inspiring leader with a track record of success at a senior management level within a complex organisation. You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and hold the relevant professional qualification and/or specific registration requirement necessary to deputise for the statutory Chief Social Work Officer.
You will demonstrate strong leadership, effective delivery and management of change and the development and implementation of strategic policy. You will also be able to evidence effective use of resources, robust financial management, strong customer focus, excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills and partnership and collaborative working arrangements with a wide range of stakeholders and national partners to deliver the best outcomes.
