Prince Harry’s court room victory has reignited his feud with the British tabloids, and especially former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan. Andrew and Phil react and wonder what’s coming next.
The bulk of this episode is then dedicated to one of the most tragic - and controversial - criminal cases in British history: the unsolved disappearance of there year old Madeleine McCann from a Portuguese holiday apartment in 2007.
Madeleine’s parents Gerry and Kate were originally identified as suspects by the local police only for charges to be dropped. In recent years a German paedophile named Christian B has also been investigated for the crime. The case has generated years of feverish speculation and argument, along with dozens of books and TV documentaries and many still believe that the parents are in some way involved in their daughter’s fate. They have always accepted some guilt for leaving their three children unsupervised that night.
Our interviewee this week, Robbyn Swann, working with her husband Anthony Summers, has produced numerous highly acclaimed investigative books. Her work on the McCann story leads her to believe that the police investigation was scandalously badly handled and the the parents faced unfair accusations spun by both police officers and online conspiracy theorists. Her work was heavily featured in the recent Netflix series
