Handmade whimsical matt glaze pottery mouse couple (1980s), approx. 14 cm tall.

These charming pottery mice were received as a present (from memory, around 1980 or possibly slightly later) and were displayed at the time for a few years, but have since been stored in a box so I would love them to have a new home. They would make a lovely present as their condition is as they were when they were received over 40 years ago, as new condition, handmade and very unusual. No chips, cracks or sign of wear.

The mice are a female in long dress or nightdress, shawl, mob cap and carrying a small basket and the male is in a long night shirt, night cap and carrying a candle, cone-shaped with beige, grey and blue glaze. The pottery pieces are rustic in appearance, very simple and limited use of colour, but very charming. The pieces stand approximately 14 cm tall.
