We are seeking to appoint a Group Leader to head up our Property Services Group.
Our ideal candidate will be a strong leader, team player and change agent, with excellent programme/project management expertise and an ability to work across organisational boundaries and sectors, focussing on delivering timely and high-quality outcomes.
Candidates will be high calibre property professionals with extensive experience of leading maintenance, repair and refurbishment programmes for property assets and the delivery of new-build construction projects within a large multi-departmental organisation.
As a key senior figure with accountability for project performance to multiple clients across a broad range of service areas, you will be adept at leading complex programmes of property and construction, ensuring projects are delivered to consistently high standards within set timescales and budgets. You will be experienced in the direction of teams, the leadership of multi-faceted projects and programmes, be used to managing multiple sources of funding/finance and be proficient in key areas such as complex procurement and contract management, specifically the NEC Form of Contract.
Our portfolio is varied, with a rich mix of corporate buildings/sites and commercial premises. We are continually improving and adding new assets through our new build and refurbishment programmes and offer a rewarding professional challenge with considerable scope to influence and innovate. The post holder can be sure of a varied and interesting workload where no day is the same and there are plenty of opportunities to make a personal impact.
You will play a senior leadership role within the Council's Economic Development, Assets and Property Service. You will direct multi-disciplinary teams on major capital investment projects whilst simultaneously orchestrating the delivery of annual programmes of planned and reactive property maintenance across the Council's corporate and commercial estate. You will be responsible for ensuring that all activities within your Group align with, and support, the Council's Climate Emergency ambition - to achieve Net Carbon Zero by 2030.
