The role
As our Group Head of Talent and Performance, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll lead the strategic initiatives aimed at identifying, nurturing, and optimising talent to ensure a pipeline of capable leaders and high-performing individuals within the organisation. Your role will be pivotal in aligning career growth, performance, and succession planning strategies with the dynamic needs of the defence industry.
Day to day, you'll balance complex business priorities and needs with talent aspirations to ensure there is an effective plan in place to build strong, diverse talent pipelines capable of driving current and future value creation.
Key Duties of the Group Head of Talent and Performance include but are not limited to:
Collaborating with business leaders and HRD colleagues to map the critical value creation roles across the organisation and help define a talent to value methodology to secure future talent pipelinesDeveloping and overseeing a robust succession planning approach to identify and prepare internal talent for key leadership positions and critical value creation roles within the organisationCollaborating with senior leadership to assess their future leadership needs and Develop strategies to secure pipeline for critical future leadership roles (build, buy, borrow)Career Development Programs - Design and implement comprehensive career development programs that offer employees clear pathways for growth, skill enhancement, and advancement within the organisationPerformance Management Systems - Lead the development and implementation of performance management systems that facilitate ongoing feedback, goal alignment, and individual development plansTalent Assessment and Development - Conduct talent assessments to identify high-potential employees and provide tailored development opportunities to nurture their capabilitiesThis role is a permanent full-time post with the ability to work from home/WFH when appropriate with travel throughout the UK as required
Essential experience of the Group Head of Talent and Performance:
Proven broad HR experience including talent management and performance managementProven experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics and relationship managementPrevious experience in capturing metrics and generating relevant insights to inform future strategySkilled collaborator and builds trusted, productive senior stakeholder relationships with easeStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to leverage data to drive strategic talent decisionsCan create simplicity from complexity to recommend solutions in dynamic and evolving scenarios
Qualifications for the Group Head of Talent and Performance:
Desirable - Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or other recognized certification e.g. CIPD or appropriate local chartered body
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
