Group Accountant - Legal Services
This is an exciting opprotunity to join a growing and passionate business. You will be given the opportunity to transform the finance function and become the building block for the department. You will need excellent Accounting and Bookkeeping skills from the legal industry and be able to assess what is needed to run a successful finance function for the business and implement this.
THE ROLE:
Key tasks include but are not limited to:
Month end reporting, group statutory reporting and Financial reportingResponsible for the management and improvement of finance and accounting systems and processesPreparing quarterly financial forecasts and quarterly bank reportingPreparing annual budgets and reporting actual results for P&L and Balance Sheet, including comparison against budget & and forecastsLiaising with external auditors and assisting with the year-end group audit with external auditorsMaintaining company compliance across the entitiesPreparation of group reporting packs (P&L, BS), including monthly, quarterly, and yearly group consolidation statements, including inter-company and other P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliationsSubmission to shareholders of results and dealing with associated queriesPreparation of key reports for DirectorsLeading and hands-on assisting of management accounts and day to day bookkeeping/accounting activities including AR, AP and credit controlEvaluate the finance function and implementing improvements around the accounting systems and team structure - you will bring cohesion to the finance function and build a strategy for a successful finance function for the futureSKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
Experience in a similar role within a Solicitors practice or similar, with understanding of the legal sector and small business consultanciesPart or Fully qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA with sound understanding of accounting standardsRelated degree in accounting, finance or mathematics is ideal but not essentialProven experience with Xero or similar Accounting systemsProven experience evaluating a finance function and implementing improvementsYou must be highly analytical and influential!Office Angels acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
