Job Title Graduate/Technician Highways Description of the role This client are expanding the team in Birmingham to cover international and domestic projects in the public and private sector. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Civil Engineers at all levels from Graduate/Technician to Associate level, initially with Highways and infrastructure knowledge and experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on significant international projects to expand your experience and an exciting time to be at the foundation of a new team with visible input to it s growth and success. This Role Graduate/Technician This role is to be a member of the team responsible for delivering first class design solutions on highways, infrastructure and drainage projects. The role will involve working within a team and liaison with the wider Group specialists including specialist sub contractors. It will involve working on International projects with the exciting challenges of learning new standards and cultures. It will also provide great experience of how the various disciplines depend on and interact with each other to produce cohesive design solutions. Primary Responsibilities • Assistance with highways, drainage, and earthworks / levels design • Preparation of 3D models and input into design and drawing/document production • Responsible for document management and the issuing of drawings • Manage procurement of site data, such as utility searches and topographical surveys • Work with the team to produce deliverables to tight deadlines • Assist in the management of Health and Safety risks and procedures • Input into technical and design reports, specifications • Liaison and coordination with specialist sub consultants Key Skills/Experience Essential • Degree/HNC/HNC in Civil Engineering and preferably minimum 1 year post qualification relevant experience • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the ICE • Preparing project drawings from concept to construction stages • CDM knowledge • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills • IT skills with knowledge and experience of MS Office and AutoCAD • Production of designs using relevant industry software eg, AutoCad, MicroDrainage, • Major highway design including alignment, pavement, drainage, signing, etc. • Understanding of engineering/civil drawings • Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks • Awareness of relevant Health and Safety requirements and practices. Desirable • Experience of working on large international projects is desirable but not essential • Construction site experience • Knowledge and experience of working within BIM environment Company benefits include • Annual Leave of 20 days plus bank holidays • Three days of additional holiday at Christmas.
