Golden Psalms is the self-titled debut Lp from the London-based instrumental three-piece, founded by filmmaker/musician Peter Sant, out through Hereonin Records on 30th April 2022.

Golden Psalms adopts a documentary-style approach; recording hours of spontaneously composed material, then editing, layering and mixing. Using only a handful of out-of-date mics and a field recorder Golden Psalms offer up a mix of rapid-fire and exhausted rhythms embellished with sounds effects such as squeaking hinges and other metallic objects that stems from Sant’s filmmaking practice.

The tracks, Eliza Talk (named after the conversational 1960’s computer programme), Gran Bwa and Hulagu (11C Mongol ruler) flit rapidly through an expansive list of influences, calling to mind The Minutemen, Tom Zé and The Ex. Tracks like Hotel Corridors, on the other hand, fall somewhere in the galaxy between Neil Young and Barry White before calling on synthetic stabs that sound like they’re from a 70’s Brazilian pop record.
