We have a vacancy for a practical minded person to join the team at Openings, Automatic Gate and Door Specialists, a family owned business located in Bournemouth, Dorset which has been established for over 30 years.

Working in the Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and surrounding areas, you will be assisting our experienced garage door fitter in the installation of garage doors of all types, both automated and manual, to the high standards expected from Openings. The successful applicant will also be involved in maintenance visits and responding to callouts on all types of garage doors.

Ideal candidates will:

Be self-motivated and enthusiastic and have the ability to demonstrate a high standard of workmanship whilst working with minimum supervision, with attention to detail paramount.

Have a practical approach and the ability to learn as required, with training provided on the job.

Be over 21 years old and have a valid clean driving licence (age because of van insurance requirements)

Be computer literate as we are in the process of transitioning to an online work allocation system.

Experience in the industry would be an advantage, however it is not necessary.

Other responsibilities:

Carry out minor and major repair work.

Reporting to your line manager daily.

You will be expected to assist our main fitter in managing the van stock.

You may be called upon to assist engineers in other areas covered by the business, as and when required to do so.

A uniform and necessary power tools will be provided.

We would expect the successful candidate to progress within the business, so in time they became an independent garage door engineer.
