I am working with a Third Sector Charity who are looking for a Fundraising Manager to join their team in developing, managing and maximising immediate and long term income from a variety of areas. You will also manage alongside the CEO the existing fundraising portfolio to achieve income targets in support of the charities strategy.
Key responsibilities:• Create new income streams by developing exciting new fundraising ideas and activities that will engage and motivate corporates and community organisations• Monitor the impact and success of fundraising initiatives in terms of financial outcome, PR and publicity and use the findings to enhance future activities• Ensure that budgets are well controlled • Keep the Charity's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other internal information management systems up to date.• Evaluate and monitor the activities and initiatives of other charities to ensure that the charity is aware of current trends, practices and 'competition'.• Attend fundraising and promotional events, give talks and presentations about the charities work and raise the profile of the Charity across the region.
Lead on the existing fundraising events programme including special events, mass participation, challenge and third party events.• Ensure that event participants are supported with fundraising and are assisted to raise as much money as possible.• Project manage events to the highest standard ensuring best return on investment, whilst monitoring costs and maximising income.• Research and identify new event opportunities, working with other team members as necessary.
• Lead and support on–going community fundraising activity, ensuring all opportunities are maximised. The role will require travel to meetings and events. Some weekend or evening work will also be required and time off in lieu will be given
What we need from you: • Proven experience as a professional fundraiser in a relevant role or transferrable skills from a sales or marketing role.• Proven successful event management experience.• Ability to use fundraising databases to select and extract data lists for mailings and events.• Experience and understanding of working with budgets and of producing financial reports to demonstrate financial outcomes.• Ability to build great relationships and develop them• Excellent written and spoken communication skills • Innovative thinking with previous experience of generation of creative ideas.• Numerate, with an understanding of how to calculate fundraising ratios and how to measure financial performance of fundraising initiatives. Minimum good pass at GCSE or equivalent in Maths.• Excellent organisation and administrative skills, ensuring that project details are attended to.• Self–starter with the ability to take the initiative to take activities forward and research other charities community/corporate and events strategies.• Ability to prioritise effectively and to manage a large and varied workload.• Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, internet use and database skills.• Ability to travel across the area of service and work some unsocial hours.
