MOT through to 2024

This is a truly lovely and unspoilt example of the MK6 Escort Van from the year 2000. The van hasn't ever been welded (nor requires any!), in fact the undercarriage is among the best you are likely to see in terms of being freshly refurbished and totally solid (Please see the pictures that show this)

The van was also fully checked and prepared by a classic Ford specialist and the rear braking system was also refurbished as required. The van starts extremely well (Bosch heavy duty battery fitted), she also is a genuine pleasure to drive and wants for nothing.

She is a super clean example with remarkable bodywork and a super clean interior (in the back of the van too!). Please watch the detailed walk around video that shows the van inside and out and highlight many small imperfections (in which there are very few!)

The van is an ex British Telecom van and is from the era when their vans changed from the usual grey to white. The van still has the original BT fit out and therefore comes with both sides in the rear fitted with steel racking and the top rack all present (so it could be easily sign written as a BT van for the showing circuit if so required).

These later Escort van's are very capable of being a daily driver and the practically of the small van is obvious, the van would look equally good lined up at a classic car show and its stunning condition would no doubt be a great talking point.

Those unfamiliar with the 1.8D engine... the (1753cc) 1.8 Endura DE is a famously durable engine built with a no-nonsense cast iron block, but with aluminium parts to reduce weight. Producing just 60bhp, this engine was not high performance but had unparalleled economy particularly in the small and light Escort van. The fuel consumable is extremely good and the lack of complex electronic computer systems make the van a pleasure to own and drive. The final Escort vans were also fitted with the improved iB5 version of the venerable BC-series 5 speed transmission.

The last of the Escorts vans were the best to drive and features such as power steering and dynamically, the handling and ride were also much improved with revised suspension set up from that on the previous Mark V models, The interior of the van was hugely revised from the previous MKV model following heavy criticism of the previous van which featured low quality plastics for its interior mouldings - the car now featured an all new dashboard arrangement of competitive quality.

Over the years we have been very proud to offer some of the very nicest Escort vans available and this one is no exception, EX-BT vans are particularly sought after because of the excellent in-house servicing and repairs they got, finding such a van with just 61k miles on is quite a rarity and if kept in her current condition....she could well prove to be a good future investment.
