The Folio Society 2015 full leather hand-bound limited edition of Anthony Trollope's novel 'The Duke's Children', with all text block edges marbled by hand, and the full leather goatskin blocked with 24 carat gilt decoration. Only 500 numbered copies of this 'hand bound' full leather version of this edition were issued by the Folio Society. The main volume is accompanied by a companion volume recounting the history of the novel including Trollope's work editing of this original full version of his work which was never published until the Folio Society commissioned this edition. A line reference ruled bookmark is laid in to the main volume. The two volumes are housed in a cloth-bound solander case.
(A 'standard' version limited edition was also issued by the Folio Society at the same time as this 'hand-bound' full leather version. The standard version had a quarter-leather binding, standard gilding, no hand-marbled text block edges, and was housed in a slipcase. The total limitation including both 'hand-bound' and 'standard' versions was 1980 numbered copies)
This copy, number 351 of the limitation, is a fine unread, unmarked volume with tight binding and bright clean pages and text block edges throughout, housed together with a similarly fine unmarked companion volume in a fine solander box with no bumps or defects.
