My client in Bristol is seeking a Financial Assessment & Benefit Officer to join their team.
The role:
Assess the financial liability of clients to pay a contributions towards the cost of residential and non-residential services which have been identified to meet their needs, including care in their own home, day care services, or care in a residential setting.
Financial assessment including considering disability related expenditure and dealing with Deferred Payment Agreements.
Advising clients to apply for all of the welfare benefits that they may be entitled to receive.
Work with Finance teams to ensure billing of charges is carried out and assist with initial stages of income recovery.
Undertake financial assessments in connection with Children's Services for payments such as adoption allowances and Guardians allowances.
Requirements:
Good understanding of welfare benefit entitlement and financially assessing clients in respect of their income and/or expenditure.
Excellent customer care skills with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively and be able to understand and explain complex issues.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
Proficient in Northgate NEC system

Contract length: 3 months with possibility of extension
