Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the finance function. The Financial Accountant provides support to the finance team and wider business with monthly management accounts reporting, VAT reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
The Ultra Finance function leads the budgeting and forecasting processes and supports the strategy process, as well as managing performance against budget. In addition, it ensures that effective financial controls are in operation in all businesses to ensure stewardship of the Group's assets. It ensures compliance with best professional standards, statutory financial requirements and fiscal provision and undertakes tax planning activities and ensure that the Group's tax reporting duties are discharged. It ensures that the Group has adequate long-term funding to meet the requirements of its Strategic Plan and supports M&A.
Key Responsibilties:
Production and maintenance of month end balance sheet reconciliations. Stock reporting and responsibility for daily cycle count reporting. Liaising with stores to ensure accuracy of overall daily cycle count process. Calculation and processing of general journals Process monthly payroll Journals from source data and reconcile the control accounts. Production and submission of monthly VAT Returns Reconciliation of Duty Deferment statements to internal records Assisting in procedure updates Assisting in external and internal audit for the business Ensure that relevant and timely financial information is made available to the company in a format that meets the expectations/requirements of internal and external customers. Continuously challenge the way we work and actively identify areas of where change can improve the performance within Finance and in the way this department serves others in the company. Make the identified changes as quickly as practical. Participate in, and support, company-wide change initiatives. Other ad hoc duties as required.

Experience of working directly with External auditors, customers, suppliers and Government bodies (eg HMRC) Experience of working in a manufacturing environment Experience of long-term contract accounting and reporting Experience of standard cost accounting and reporting Qualified Accountant or Accounting Finalist (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
