We are seeking to recruit a Finance Officer - AP & AR Function tojoin our team based in London on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP27,000 to GBP29,000 gross per annum.
The Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a vibrant and growing charity delivering life changing nautical adventure for young people through the Sea Cadets to give them the best possible head start in life. We also provide personal and professional development opportunities for seafarers with the Marine Society. The Finance Officer role:
We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our team. You will need to be enthusiastic and detail focused individual who is working well on own initiative as well as part of the team. You will need to be proactive, approachable and communicate well at all levels. You will work closely with an Assistant Accountant.
Responsibilities as our Finance Officer will include:.
Managing weekly payments Suppliers/Staff/VolunteersCoding charity's receipts and payments relating to Sales and Purchase LedgerManaging Supplier and Customer queriesPerforming Supplier and Customer reconciliation and Credit ControlProcessing Direct DebitsWorking closely with the team on achieving timely month end Requirements needed to become our Finance Officer:
Financial aptitude Good general level of formal education (including English and Maths GCSE or equivalent)Intermediate Excel SkillsExperience of working in a customer facing role, including handling a wide range of enquiries by telephone and emailExperience of maintaining records and filing systemsData protection awarenessExperience of organising own work and managing deadlinesPrepared to be flexible in working from home, and to undertake occasional domestic travel (a few times a year) Benefits as our Finance Officer will include:
