Your new companyHays Accountancy and Finance are partnering exclusively with a well–established and diverse agricultural group based in Hereford, Herefordshire to recruit a dynamic and experienced Financial Manager or Controller to join their growing organisation. The role will report directly to the Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team, to ensure the Finance team is able to operate effectively by providing leadership, coaching, knowledge, and experience as required. You will be responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of accounting and finance, including reporting, budgeting, analysis, and decision support. A key focus area is to help us improve process and systems, along with making sure the right management information is produced. Open to both qualified and qualified by experienced finance professionals with future succession planning on offer.Your new roleKey duties will involve managing a small finance team to optimise performance, deliver against targets and ensure personal development for other team members. You will maintain oversight of all group areas, both financial and operational, providing accounting and reporting services including budgeting and analysis. You will take the lead in improving processes, systems and controls as the group grows further. You will proactively manage costing processes throughout the year, provide financial analysis to aid key business decisions for operational management, along with reviewing the accounting work of the team to drive efficiencies. You will be involved in ad–hoc duties and projects for the senior management team and be adaptable to business needs. What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this exciting and newly created Financial Manager/Controller role, you will need experience in a similar position, qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience with team management experience, and strong communication skills to build both internal/external relationships. You will have key MS Excel skills, and be trained in a range of financial systems. You will be keen to develop processes/systems, have strong attention to detail, and be adaptable to suit business needs. You will be able to lead and operate autonomously with proven commercial awareness and be able to delegate effectively when necessary. Experience within the agricultural sector would be advantageous but not essential.What you'll get in returnThis hands–on and varied Financial Manager/Controller role offers a competitive salary between GBP40,000 – GBP55,000 per annum, dependable on experience, based in Hereford, Herefordshire.
