Situated in the picturesque town of Uppingham in Rutland, Uppingham School is a leading co-educational boarding school accommodating over 800 pupils and employing more than 600 staff.
Uppingham is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and resourceful Finance Manager to join the Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, this position provides a first-class comprehensive service, including the provision of accurate and timely financial accounts and information for Trustees, the leadership team and budget holders, as well as managing and directing the accounts team.
Other responsibilities include assisting with annual budget preparation, regular budget monitoring, preparing year-end figures for audit, managing fees in advance schemes and the termly fee invoicing process, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, financial regulations and procedures. This position is alert to opportunities to improve finance processes and implements strategies to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
In a busy environment, it is essential that the Finance Manager is able to prioritise with a capacity to multi-task efficiently, and is able to meet deadlines whilst retaining a high level of accuracy.
