Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will need to build partnerships and strong relationships with all stakeholders, senior managers and their teams to provide financial support for operational and commercial resolutions.
Main Duties:
Generating monthly reporting packs for the operational business to ensure that operational heads of departments and cost centre managers are in control of their expenditure. Developing finance reporting that links into the non-financial key performance indicators and performance commitments of the operational departmentQuarterly in year forecasting, annual budgeting and forward looking 5 year high level forecasts including regular review and tracking against forecast.Monthly production of Water Company VAT ReturnProduction of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal sign off.Implementation of business controls and procedures across the purchase ledger and cashiering team.Providing support and cover as needed on the co-ordination and control of daily cash payments and banking requirements, including working with the cashier to provide regular cash forecasting and evaluation.Development of month end timetable, procedures, improvement of key financial reporting and system development.Challenging current ways of working, driving efficiencies and best practise wherever possible.Acting as a key member of the delivery of the external audit at half year and year end.Ad hoc tasks as required Qualifications and Requirements:
ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent), part qualified (final stages) or fully qualifiedExperience in management accounting, business partnering, purchase ledger, cashiering experienceExperience of working with non-finance members of the organisationStrong numerical and reasoning skills.Excellent verbal and written communications skillsAbility to work across departments at all levels - both as a customer of other departments and as a service provider to others.Demonstrates attention to detail.Can work in a time-pressured environment.Enthusiastic to streamline processes A forward-thinking utility company, SES Water is driven by innovation and environmental responsibility.
