Main Purpose of the Role

This will be a key role supporting the Property Manager & Senior Surveyor in the Real Estate Team for RWE Technology UK Ltd. RWE currently operate in a number of locations in the UK, including a recently refurbished office headquarters in Swindon, Wiltshire. Other significant sites include prime offices in London and Coventry.

The Real Estate Accounting Specialist will be responsible for the provision of effective and efficient Real Estate and FM Finance/Accounting services across all the UK sites. This will include rent accounting and financial management across all the sites within the UK portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for Property Vendor management in SAP and together with other colleagues within the team. Creation and maintaining of lease-in and lease-out contracts as well as any connected participation groups, settlement units and service charge keys for the UK portfolio on SAP RE-FX. Running postings for the lease-in on a monthly/quarterly basis and when necessary. Ensuring all property and FM costs for the UK portfolio are paid on time in accordance with the leases or other relevant contracts, including chasing any missing invoices for the property costs Raising Purchase Requisitions and GRN-ing relevant invoices on SAP for Real Estate and FM based on correct and comprehensive requests received Raising tenant demands for rent and service charges for the UK portfolio on a quarterly basis and any other miscellaneous charges on a periodic basis. Producing accurate annual cost/income reconciliations that cover the entire UK property portfolio on RE-FX, working together with the Accounting UK. Provide support to Accounting/Finance for monitoring KPI s such as aged debt, including chasing tenants for payment. Support S4/Hana implementation and any new project Interim/year end support to Accounting/Finance for property related costs, prepayments and accruals to the external auditors and work through any resulting queries this includes any disclosures required. Work in a cross-country team in Germany (DE) and United Kingdom (UK) Regular liaison with RWET finance manager, group finance managers and RWEG Accounting UK. First point of contact for nominated properties within the UK portfolio for Finance/Accounting Creation & maintaining effective working relationships with all third party organisations Liaison with internal teams, providing advice Outward facing role needing regular liaison with landlords, tenants & third party organisations Preparation of dedicated Real Estate accounts for acquisition and disposal of property sites Preparation of financial reports as required Service charge management & invoice review with external landlords/agents Budget-Planning (MTP) working with Finance to prepare, monitor and review budgets and set Capex & Opex budgets across all sites Project Management working collaboratively alongside the RWET Finance Manager in projects taking responsibility for financial management Ensure that RWE group companies receive a cost effective service in line with specified requirements and agreed SLAs/KPIs Create and provide instruction and guidance to colleagues in the Real Estate and FM teams on Finance/Accounting processes Knowledge & Skills

- Experience of working in the following areas: Financial Lease Management, Property Management and Commercial Facilities Management both at RWE and external market experience

- Experience essential of working in a fast paced property company environment

- Experience of financial management systems and processes

- SAP knowledge and experience of RE-FX rent accounting system is preferred

- Analytical and detail conscious

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills using tact and discretion as appropriate

- Team player essential

- Familiar with budgeting and able to manage and review budget plans

- Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work together with the ability to work on own initiative

- Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment and to meet tight deadlines

- Work in partnership with Technical & Operational Facility Management to identify RWE portfolio opportunities for financial improvement and efficiency

- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and be proficient with the Internet

- Fluency in other languages would be a useful skill for working with the Global property team

- Preferably relevant job experience & further vocational and educational courses and specialist qualifications in financial management /accounting.
