Finance Assistant

Required for February 2024

35 hours per week, term time, including INSET days + 3 weeks in holiday periods (42 weeks per year)

Scale 4 point 7, starting salary GBP27,497 per annum

Acland Burghley School is looking to appoint an outstanding Finance Assistant with a keen eye for detail to join our well-established Finance & HR Team. There are two Finance & HR Assistant postholders within the team working to the same job description but each focussing primarily on either finance or HR. This post will focus primarily on finance.

The Finance Assistant is responsible for a wide range of finance related administrative tasks, including placing orders, processing invoices and journals on the school's finance management system and ensuring that the school's financial procedures have been complied with. The post would be particularly suitable for someone with experience in a finance, payroll or admin role, within an educational or similar setting.

The successful candidate will be highly organised with excellent IT skills, the ability to balance the varied requirements of the role and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times. They will have strong communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships with staff, families and suppliers. They will be passionate about developing opportunities for young people and share our ambition to make Acland Burghley an outstanding school.
