Finance Assistant
Working for a very established PLC in York, their group of companies extends throughout the UK as well as North America, Ireland, Spain as well as Australia. We are looking for a full time, permanent and experienced finance assistant within a team of 7 including 2 Credit managers. York is the central department for 39 locations across Yorkshire, the North West and up to the Scottish borders.
Your role as Finance Assistant will include the following:
Reviewing new customer accounts and carrying out the necessary checks to determine eligibility for credit as well as reviewing credit limits.Opening new accounts on their bespoke accountant system (full training on this given)Speaking to customers, building and maintaining relationships. Chasing payments and dealing with queries.Working closely with other members of the credit control team as well as branch managers across the area and other accounting teams across the business.Allocating cash to customer accounts as well as chasing overdue invoices and payment. Collecting & chasing bad debt.Sending out monthly statements It is essential as the successful Finance Assistant joining this team that you have patience and the ability to remain calm in a very business deadline–driven office environment. It's important for you be organised and self–motivated with good data entry, numeracy, written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of MS excel is also essential as is experience in either credit control or accounts payable.
Salary: GBP23,500 plus annual bonus (approx. GBP2–3k/year)
