The Guitar:
This guitar is part a limited series of custom shop guitars that Fender released as part of the Rarities collection In 2019.
It has a gorgeous flame maple top with a lacquer finish which looks even better in real life. The guitar has a chambered, two-piece roasted alder body with a natural flame maple top, separated by a black center stripe which makes the guitar extremely resonant - similar construction was created for George Harrison’s Telecaster.
The neck is a modern C-shaped neck profile with 9.5”-radius fingerboard with a thick lacquer finish which is extremely smooth on the fingers. There is also vintage-style hardware and a vintage-style Tele bridge with three compensated steel saddles.
Since owning the guitar I have had the guitar professionally set up with some subtle modifications to improve the playability. The action is at 1.5mm low E last fret and about 1.3mm high E last fret. The metal tree has been replaced with a plastic Tusqe tree to prevent any string buzz - I believe I still have the original metal tree which can be supplied with the guitar.
Pickups:
The bridge pickup is a custom made ‘50s vintage-style by Tim Shaw which adds a hotter voice that cuts through any mix. The neck position features a Shawbucker 1T For added depth. Both pickups sounds great together.
Extras:
The Telecaster comes with a vintage style hard case, there are some slight scuffs on the corners but overall the case is in excellent condition. The hard case also comes with a spare pair of locking keys and all original documentation.
There is also a saddle cover included for that classic telecaster look.
