We are looking for PAs to join our established team providing support to my sister who lives independently with 24 hour support. We are seeking team members who are caring, empathetic and understanding of the positive difference they can make in this role.
My sister is a young woman who lives in her own flat with 24/7 care. She currently has 6 PAs and you would be working within a great team. She is currently finding life hard, so we are looking for someone that would be able to help her to bring her sparkle back. Her interests include painting, drawing, pottery, listening to music, going to karaoke nights. She also enjoys going to the cinema and spending time with family and friends. She loves animals and has a cat called Tinkerbell.
She has Epilepsy and a learning disability so you will mainly be supporting my sister to be as Independent as possible whilst keeping her safe through observing her seizures.
You will also be required to assist with meals, personal care and keeping her home clean and tidy.
Full training will be provided and new team members are shadowed until they are confident in their role.

The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.
Description
Domestic – Supporting my sister with:
Laundry- all aspects
Taking out rubbish
General housework, including cleaning, making beds, dusting, vacuuming and tidying
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Personal Care:
Assisting to access the toilet and remaining outside to support if required.
Prompting and assistance as needed with showering/hair washing.
Help and encouragement with dressing and personal grooming as required.
Safety is paramount as she can have drop seizures, you will always need to be nearby in case she is about to fall.
The emergency medication is rectal diazepam, so staff will need to be trained and feel comfortable and confident administering this. Rectal diazepam is the only emergency medication that works for my sister.

You will:
Be female due to personal care needs
Have a driving licence and car or willing to drive the family car
Be able to treat all aspects of your role with confidentiality
Able to follow instructions as well as work on own initiative
