Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced and hands-on part-time or full-time farm bookkeeper based in Hereford, Herefordshire. This permanent finance role will report directly into the Financial Controller and support in a varied finance and administration role linked to the agricultural/farming side of the Group. The position will involve transactional accounting processes, through to trial balance and related financial administration. A great opportunity to join a farming group going through continued growth and development. To be considered, you will need some experience within an agricultural business or farm related group, along with experience in a similar finance role.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve helping the farm businesses manage their accounts, along with monthly bookkeeping tasks including purchase and sales ledger processing, data inputting, bank reconciliations and VAT submissions. Assisting with the preparation of management reports and year-end reports for the Financial Controller, stock control processes, inventory management and financial administration. You will assist in process improvement along with ad-hoc projects/duties for the Senior Management Team.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on and varied Farm Bookkeeper position, you will need experience in a similar role, strong communication skills to build both internal and external relationships and be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines. You will be comfortable with financial systems, MS Excel, and working both within a team environment along with using your own initiative. Key numerical and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail. Ideally, you will be AAT qualified or qualified by experience. It is essential that you have experience working within the agricultural or farming sector.
