Senior Family Legal Secretary, Sunderland
The candidate will be responsible for providing all round secretarial and administrative support, including liaising with clients and answering basic queries, diary management, producing documents (with the use of digital dictation), and maintaining filing and record systems. Strong communication and IT skills are important. Ability to audio type and copy type is essential. Knowledge of bighand digital dictation is preferable.
Main Responsibilities:-
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including correspondence, memos, and pleadings
- Maintain and organize legal files and documents
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and court appearances for attorneys
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness lists
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and phone calls
- Manage attorney calendars and coordinate travel arrangements
Desired skills and experience:
Legal Secretary/Assistant experience with at least 1-2 years experienceFast, accurate typing ability, ideally using digital audio systems.
