Exeter School is the leading co-educational day school in the Southwest, educating over 1,000 pupils aged 3-18. The Events Officer and help drive forward our ambitious and exciting events portfolio for former pupils of the school (alumni).
About the role:
We want the post-holder to increasingly take ownership of our events, but you will not be doing this job alone. You will be part of a small and friendly team, led by the Director of Development and Alumni Relations. Our alumni events include formal dinners, drinks receptions, lectures, garden parties and more, and we host them both at the school and elsewhere in the UK. You will be involved in all key aspects of these events: securing venues, ensuring good levels of attendance, delivering our events to the high standard we look for and attending the events themselves. This is a busy, dynamic role in which you will be working on multiple events simultaneously; when you are not coordinating events you will be based within offices on our beautiful school grounds, where the environment is conducive to quiet and focused work.
Building and maintaining long-term, meaningful relationships with our alumni and supporters sits at the heart of this role. You will also need to use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate efficiently with our external and internal stakeholders. Applicants will have experience within an events and/or customer-facing role, as well as database and information management. A successful candidate will be someone who works accurately and efficiently, has a positive mindset and takes pride in their work. There are opportunities to grow and develop within this role and the school can provide access to training courses.
About you:
Specific qualifications, experience and/or training should be made clear on your application, and all will be advantageous in the application process. As important, however, is the desire to deliver outstanding events and customer service. You will contribute to the school's aims to enhance alumni relations and fundraising programmes – we look forward to showing you how this role makes a difference.
Benefits:
This post is a permanent, full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role will attract a salary of £27,600, reviewed annually each September.
