ESOL Tutor

Salary: GBP25,000 FTE pro rata (Actual Salary: GBP4,667 per annum)
Hours: Part time - 7 hours per week
Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 30th September 2024
Unique opportunity for an experienced ESOL tutor to join the charity's ESOL programme which supports the refugees and non-EU migrants to settle into their lives by providing student-led ESOL conversation lessons.
The ESOL programme in Torbay supports refugees and migrants to settle into their lives in Bristol through three key areas:
LANGUAGE: The conversational English language classes are an opportunity for refugees and non-EU migrants to practice their English whilst discussing diverse topicsCULTURE: The creative workshops bring people together through community activities to promote inter-cultural understanding, practice English, meet friends and build confidence. Activities will be "green" and focus on the theme "Create and Communicate", including gardening, cooking, arts, crafts, etc.PREPARATION FOR WORK: The charity provides employability skills training, careers advice and pastoral care to support refugees and non-EU migrants to access employment, education and training. They do this through 121 and group sessions via Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG).The charity are looking for an ESOL Tutor to deliver conversational English Language sessions under the 'Language' strand of the project, to improve participants' ability to communicate with others and access services and employment opportunities. This will include face to face and online classes.
The successful candidate will have a qualification or equivalent experience of teaching ESOL or literacy in group and one-to-one settings, with the ability to motivate and inspire people facing multiple barriers to integration through the delivery of quality language sessions.
You will be able to manage a varied workload against deadlines in a target driven environment, keeping accurate records to monitor and evaluate progress against targets, and complete funders' and awarding bodies' paperwork in accordance with GDPR.
