While teaching English online, I have met many people from different parts of the world. There was Vladislav from Russia, for example. In this globalised world, the English language plays a vital role, and I need hardly mention the importance of knowing English when travelling abroad or working for an international company. The trouble is, the language is so ill-equipped for the task! Many people complain about its strange spelling system, and irregularities like 'went' as the past tense of 'go'. What about all those confusing phrasal verbs? I sympathise with my students and I know the frustration that comes with learning another language, having studied Polish and Spanish for a few years. My advice is to make learning English a part of your daily life. Even if you have only 10 minutes to spare in your busy schedule, you can use that time to read something or to watch a video on YouTube. Apps like Duolingo can help, too. There are many things you can do in addition to having lessons with a native speaker.
