Salary Structure
The gross salary depends on qualifications, experience and actual number of sessions worked.
Grade I teachers would typically earn: GBP2,160 (Qualifications: Degree + PGCE or BEd + min 1-year professional teaching experience) Grade II teachers would typically earn: GBP2,025 (Qualifications: Degree + PGCE or BEd, ECT status) Timetables are scheduled in quarter, half or full day sessions as required by the programme e.g. lessons, lunchtime, workshop, or all-day excursions. Salaries are adjusted according to the actual number of sessions worked.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Deliver dynamic and personalised English lessons, incorporating authentic literature and drama techniques to engage groups of 13-15 students. Prepare and submit lesson plans, ensuring diverse oral and written outcomes with peer and self-feedback strategies. Implement collaborative teaching methods, assess student progress, and adhere to National Curriculum practices. Lead workshops, actively participate in extracurricular activities and excursions, and maintain professionalism through punctuality and preparedness. Foster positive communication with colleagues and welcome observations Pastoral and Social Duties:
Ensure the well-being of students during their UK stay by providing high-level pastoral care and guidance. Live alongside students in the boarding house, establishing routines for daily activities. Regularly check on students' well-being, liaise with accompanying teachers, and maintain supportive discipline. Prioritise health and safety standards. Handle emergencies as needed. You'll have a keen awareness of intercultural challenges and positive ways to address them. Requirements:
