My story
Hi there! I'm an adorable 12-week-old hairless puppy named Elle, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home! I was born on 12/9/23. My mom’s name is Cotton. I’m Elle. Get it?
All 4lbs of me is bursting with personality. I keep hearing the words: spitfire, sassy, and spicy. I don’t know what they mean just yet, but I suppose they are meant to describe me. I’m all puppy - playful, curious, and I have lots of sharp little piranha teeth. I was raised with ENS and Puppy Culture protocols (you can Google those if you don't know), and foster mommy thinks I'm so nicely balanced and fun.
I can't wait to find a loving family who will cherish me for who I am and give me all the cuddles and adventures I crave. I am bold and biddable and would possibly make a super fun agility prospect. Wobble boards are my favorite things to play on, tunnels are so fun to run through, and I've even been learning to ride a skateboard.
I get along with all the dogs in my foster home, but I'm not allowed to mingle with the big dogs because I'm so little, and foster mom doesn't want me to get smooshed - she says no big dogs in my future home. I love playing with the chihuahua pack here, and they've been a big part of teaching me some manners. I was born a singleton, and we tend to grow up and be a little naughty since we didn't have siblings to correct our naughtiness. My foster mom says these other chihuahuas are really helping me learn valuable life lessons, so I really would like another small, active dog in my future home to keep showing me how to be a good citizen.
Oh, another thing. Because I'm spicy and sassy, I tend to vocalize that a good bit. Foster mom says no attached style living situations for me, because the neighbors would surely not appreciate the ear piercing sounds that come out of my tiny self.
Keep reading below to read about more requirements/information my foster family wants you to know.

Potential families should have no children under 10. There must be at least one small, playful dog in the home to continue teaching Elle about dog manners, no large dogs. No attached style living situations (ex: condos, townhomes, apartments, etc). Applicants should also understand that small breed puppies can be notoriously difficult with house training and may never be reliably housetrained. Small dogs can be a 15+ year commitment. Adopters willing to attend training classes at their local kennel club or training facility will be preferred. Baby Elle is small enough she could easily fly or be driven by car. Adopters must be willing to come to Suffolk, VA to pick up.
Elle has had her first two sets of vaccines, and is microchipped. Adopter will be responsible for her third round of puppy vax at 16 weeks old, and also responsible for her rabies vaccine, done between 4-6 months.
Elle’s adoption fee is $500, plus a refundable $500 deposit must be paid at the time of adoption. Adopter will be required to spay Elle at 6 months of age and repair her inguinal hernia at the same time. Spay and hernia repair will be covered entirely if our personal vet is used, otherwise our rescue will cover up to $600 toward the surgery if adopter uses their own vet. This would be paid directly to the vet clinic by our rescue. Fourth puppy vaccines and rabies vaccine will be the responsibility of the adopter. The $500 deposit will be refunded upon proof of rabies, spay and inguinal repair at 6mos of age.
