Are you someone who is passionate about Electrical Maintenance in manufacturing environments? Are you a flexible individual, happy to undertake other duties to support the delivery of production plans?
At Saint-Gobain Glass UK, part of the Saint-Gobain Group, Europe's leading manufacturer of flat glass for the UK market, we are looking for an Electrical Operator to work as part of a production team focused on a section of our manufacturing operation.
As an Electrical Operator, you will work in a hands-on capacity with a focus on two main areas of our production process. Your primary duties will be the ongoing electrical maintenance of the machinery in the areas, delivering routine preventative work, and responding to break downs delivering fault finding and repair duties. It would be great if you could support some basic mechanical maintenance activities too, such as changing bearings and similar.
Your secondary duties will be covering and supporting the production team in your areas, which may include driving FLT's, loading and operating machinery, or supporting quality processes by taking samples of products and conducting testing processes.
Glass UK is one of 30 Saint-Gobain brands. The Glass UK site in Eggborough is part of a business with a 350 year heritage in flat glass manufacturing. We have invested heavily into our Eggborough facility in recent years including GBP20m in a new furnace, securing the site for the next 20 years.
This is a full-time position based in Eggborough, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days and 2 nights) Full details of working terms, conditions, benefits, and pay will be supplied upon application.
What we're looking for:
Electrical qualifications are essential such as NVQ 3, equivalent, or above.Experience working in manufacturing or heavy industry.Working knowledge and experience in the application of safe working practices.A flexible attitude to work, a team player willing to flex in duties to support the delivery of production plans.Experience and ability to conduct fault finding in electrical systems and plant machinery.
