Who am I looking for?
Due to an increase in my clients orders, I am looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who continues to be excited about innovation in electrical design and the experience that luxury and cutting-edge systems can give a customer.
What does a day as an Electrical Design Engineer look like?
In the Electrical Design Team, you won't just produce electrical schematics; you will be responsible for delivering the detail and innovation that is behind the operation of every aspect of award winning, luxury motor yachts.
My client invests in the in-house production of electrical assemblies and solutions. This provides the opportunity for their award-winning team to be involved directly in the entire development cycle from conceptual design, to product testing, ongoing support, and product improvement.
You will experience the entire process - one day detailing assembly design, another day supporting our Test Teams to verify the operation of our latest systems on the yachts.
Through ongoing research, liaison with external suppliers and attendance at trade shows, you will develop your expertise and build relationships across industries and platforms that enable the delivery of the latest technologies and innovations that improve the efficiency of our designs and that ultimately enhance our client's enjoyment of their yacht.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will encounter various projects across industrial automation, user interface design, computer networks, 2D design, power converters, battery systems, lighting systems and more.
You'll have the opportunity to work across a diverse and exciting range of electrical design projects, including but never limited to; automation systems, computer networks, state of the art audio visual systems, IOT (Internet of Things), mobile telecommunication systems, along with the opportunity to research evolving technology and propose innovation in the designs you're responsible for.
Your new team actively encourages the in-house assembly of prototype designs to understand what the customer and production impact will be.
You will be expected to review make versus buy plans, to bring your innovative designs to life, within budget.
Interaction with other design teams to complement functions of luxury motors yachts, whether that be automated patio doors or innovative and luxury lighting systems, is a large part of this role.
What do you need to be good at this role?
Higher educational achievement in electrical or electronic subjects (e.g; HNC, HND, FdEng, BEng or equivalent)Exposure to electrical computer aided design software tools (excluding 3D design)Proven ability with electrical product design work (please include an example with your application where possible) Knowledge of computer network systems An interest in programming or user interfaces and user experience Or; Have successfully completed a level 3 marine electrical apprenticeship with some post qualification experience in yacht electrical installationsWhat is in it for you?
