Due to a recent retirement, we have an outstanding opportunity here at Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions for an experienced Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join us here at our busy, high performing Runcorn site.
The successful candidate will be somebody working within the manufacturing industry. You will be approachable, with excellent fault finding skills and a passion for sustainability. What we're looking for:
Completed a nationally recognised apprenticeship scheme including core electrical units, vocational and a technical qualification such as (NVQ's/HNC/HND or equivalent) or other recognised qualifications at an equivalent level with proven experience within the field.A Minimum of 5 years' experience and formal qualifications in Functional Safety and Explosive Atmospheres related to EC&I Systems under IEC 61511 and DSEAR.IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.In depth knowledge and experience fault finding automated electromechanical, servo motion and machinery such as conveyor systems, robotics, motors, safety circuits, VFD's with the ability to utilise existing knowledge and apply it to a variety of situations.Experience in Reading PLC code with the ability to interpret and understand what effect this has on plant/machine control, good understanding of signal processing, control systems & fault finding in an industrial environment.Experience in utilizing Management of Change ProceduresCapital Project Management (Desirable) Experience in delivering complex projects running throughout all project lifecycle stages.Experience working with HMI and SCADA systems, ideally Allen Bradley.Experience working with industrial networks and fieldbus communication protocols such as Ethernet (TCP/IP, UDP, CANbus, ASIBus, PROFInet, PROFIbus, Modbus or similar).What you will be doing:
Taking responsibility for the safe and reliable operation of our electrical, controls, automation, and instrumentation systems at our Isover insulation production facility in Runcorn.
The preferred bias for the role is electrical controls, although you will also commission, configure and maintain a variety of machinery, process instrumentation, low voltage systems, as well as industrial networks.
You will maintain and repair our automation & control systems to improve process performance. This will be fundamental to the success of this role.
You will routinely collaborate with other member of the Engineering and Production teams to understand problems affecting reliability and production seeking to engineer them out through best practice, industry standard solutions and innovative engineering ideas.
You will support the production teams by responding to breakdown and carrying out PPM tasks.
