What you'll be doing
As an Editorial Assistant you will play a vital role providing editorial and administrative support across both our Academic Books and Conference Proceedings publications.
Our Academic Books review state-of-the-art engineering and technology research, offering both broad perspectives on research and development trends as well deep dives into subject matter, and our Conference Proceedings publications present the latest research on science, engineering and technology topics.
What we hope you can bring to the role
You will be someone who can bring a strong organisational and administrative skillset to the role. With the position often acting as a central point of contact, the successful candidate will need to support and guide conference organisers and authors, as well as issue documents for completion and thoroughly check applications, ensuring accurate records are kept and reported on. Additionally, the Editorial Assistant will support and coordinate the timely delivery of manuscripts, liaising with all parties and completing editorial assessments and other ad-hoc administrative support as and when needed.

A little more about the role
Provide administrative support and guidance for conference proceedings, collating key documentation and recording key data;Check and advise on applications;Report on citations for publish conference proceedings;Support, coordinate and encourage timely manuscript delivery by liaising with Authors and Editors on progress with their publications, including supporting on permissions and copyright issues;Conduct editorial assessments on incoming manuscripts to ensure all files are present and production-read;Provide administrative support to the editorial team, working closely with the Assistant Editor and Commissioning Editors. Experience of providing excellent administrative and customer service support;High attention to detail;Excellent time management and planning;Proficient using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel);Experience working in a publishing or STEM publishing environment would be highly beneficial.
